WHERE LONE WOLVES FIND THEIR PACK
What was your first bike?
I was 16. I and every other 16-year-old boy in England had a Yamaha FS1E and it was a 49CC moped because at 16 you weren't allowed
to ride a real motorcycle. You could get about 60 miles an hour out of 'em on a good day.

What bikes do you own now?
Now I have several BMWs: a 1967 BMW, 2006 BMW GS1200 and I just bought a BMW R90. I also have a couple of Triumphs, but in various stages of rebuilds.

What does your ideal day look like?
Depends on the weather, southern Arizona is pretty hot! Getting up, having a little coffee, riding up Mt. Lemmon to start, then I'll go take a nap,
go to the gym and spend time with my family... plus a school pick-up in there somewhere!

What was your favorite ride you've done so far?
Highway 1, California down the coast. Especially around Monterey and Carmel.

What are your 6 essentials for a long ride?
Full-face helmet. Water. Snacks. Jacket liner. Rainsuit. Music.

What's a conception about motorcyclists you disagree with?
That motorcyclists are leather-clad bikers that are just out to cause trouble and scare people on the roads. Although there are still some of those out there, that's not generally who I would consider real authentic motorcycle riders. Most riders are there to enjoy the road, the same as you, and if
you'd took the time to actually talk to them, you'd find they are the friendliest and most helpful people that would stop and help you out in a bind.
I would trust a motorcyclist to stop and help me before I would trust a cop to stop and help me.

A piece of advice for new motorcycle riders?
Never ride beyond your comfort and ability.

What is your dream motorcycle?
Ducati Street Fighter.

Gotta ask! Which drink does the head honcho order at Gear Shifters?
I will usually order a Cortado or if I want something sweet I'll get a Hot Hazelnut Latte.
Be sure to say hello to Johnny Speed and tell him he did fantastic on his Solo Rider Feature interview on your next stop at Gear Shifters!
